A search operation conducted in the Basirhat Police District area on Thursday led to the recovery of 16 long firearms and 2,345 rounds of live ammunition from a pond. The operation was carried out as part of the ongoing investigation linked to STF Headquarters Police Station Case No. 18/2026, registered on June 6, following earlier raids in Bashirhat and Baruipur. The recovered weapons and ammunition were seized during a coordinated search conducted by investigating officials.
With the latest recovery, the total seizure in the case has increased to 51 firearms and 2,705 rounds of live ammunition. Investigators are continuing search operations in the area and examining the recovered materials as part of the ongoing probe. Further investigation into the case is underway.
